Mark your calendars for October 17th-25th, for the
46th Annual Hopkins County Fall Festival.
Our Board of Directors work all year long by taking on the task of finding a variety of events, activities and interests to accommodate people of all ages and preferences. They dedicate a lot of their personal time, hard work and are dedicated to bringing everyone an enjoyable and exciting festival.
The annual parade on Saturday, October 17th, kicks off the Fall Festival week. Our festival theme this year is “Let Freedom Ring”. We are honoring the Veterans from Hopkins County and have asked them to be our Grand Marshalls for the parade.
Tuesday, October 20th and Thursday, October 22nd the 33rd annual Cover Girl Contest will take place in the Civic Center arena. We are also proud to announce that the popular and thrilling Wagner Carnival will be returning and will begin on Wednesday, October 21st.
We have a new attraction this year. The All About Science Show, who along with the returning Lone Star Action Sports BMX riders, will entertain and inform the local and county school kids with an informative and exciting show about Science and Drug Prevention, to go along with Red Ribbon Week. There will be two shows each on Thursday, October 22nd , and Friday, October 23rd, for the schools.
We are bringing back the free Friday Night Street Dance to be held at Muddy Jakes Backyard, on Davis St. on Friday, October 23rd at 7pm. Everyone will be entertained with dancing music provided by a local band, Southern Soul, and a McKinney based band, 121 North.
Friday, October 23rd and Saturday, October 24th, the Fall Festival will be in full action mode in the Civic Center and on the grounds, with commercial vendors, food vendors, a mechanical bull, photo booth, Wacky Water Walkers, the Middle School Strings Orchestra, cake walk, chainsaw carving artists, balloon artist, carnival and much, much more. Also, the Arts & Crafts show and Creative Arts exhibit, will be located at the high school.
The Kids Zone, located in the horse pavilion, will provide an assortment of fun and interesting activities for the kids, big and small. There will be the Down on the Farm Petting Zoo, a Civil War Hospital exhibit, a combo bounce house, David Wonders Magic Show and Balloon Art, face and hair painting, and horse rides provided by the Broken Wheel Ranch Project.
Saturday, October 24th, will wrap up with our concert at 7pm.,in the Civic Center arena. Opening is Max Stalling, a Texas country singer. Our headliner band is the Damn Quails, an up and coming Texas country music band with a new album to be released in September.
Sunday, October 25th, will wrap up the Fall Festival by bringing back our 2nd annual Hispanic Day beginning at 12pm until 7pm. The carnival will be opened, along with food vendors, live music, a DJ, and dancers.
We hope everyone can come out and enjoy all of the events and activities the Fall Festival has to offer. Remember, our theme is “Let Freedom Ring” , and will be used through out the festival. In keeping with our theme, please thank a Veteran anytime you can, for their service to our country.

Saturday, September 12th- The Freedom Ride – motorcycle rally. Registration at 8:30am. Kick stands up at 10am.
Saturday, September 26th- Battle of the Bands – preliminaries. 6pm at Muddy Jakes Backyard.
Saturday, October 10th- Battle of the Bands – finals. 6pm at Muddy Jakes Backyard.
Monday, October 12th- The 20th Annual Hopkins County Fall Festival Golf Tournament at the Sulphur Springs country Club. Tee off at 1pm.
Tuesday, October 13th- The Fall Festival Business After Hours and Ribbon Cutting at the Civic Center. 5pm – 6:30pm.
