Notice of Public Hearing on Tax Increase


 

Last year, the City of Sulphur Springs’ property tax rate was $ .4400. That rate raised

$ 2,812,334, a portion of which was used to fund operations such as:


 

Police Department                 Fire Department

Coleman Park New               Library

Park System                         Street Maintenance

Road Reconstruction             Drainage Work


 

This year, the City of Sulphur Springs is proposing a property tax rate of $ .4400.That rate would raise $ 2,966,507, which is $ 154,173 more than taxes imposed last year.

 


There will be two public hearings to consider that increase. The first public hearing will be held on Thursday, August 25, 2005 at Noon. The second hearing will be held on Tuesday, August 30, 2005 at Noon. Both hearings will be held at City Hall, in the Council Chambers, 125 S. Davis, City of Sulphur Springs.
