MEETING MINUTES October 17, 2006

CALL MEETING TO ORDER: ZBA Vice Chairman Joel Sheffield called the meeting of the Zoning Board of Adjustments and Appeals to order at 5:30 P.M..
DISCUSSION/ACTION ZBA MEETING MINUTES OF SEPTEMBER 19, 2006: A motion was made by James Hulen and seconded by Gary Stokes to approve ZBA Minutes of September 19, 2006. Motion carried, all voting aye.
DISCUSSION/ACTION ZBA CASE NO. V-061002: A motion was made by Claude Walter and seconded by James Hulen to approve a request by Owner/Chris Brown for a variance to the number of parking spaces required for property located at 1700 Hines Street, being further described as Lot 1, Block 210-1. Mr. Brown is requesting a variance from the twelve parking spaces to six parking spaces for his real estate office. Mr. Brown presented his case and stated that his main reason for requesting this variance was to preserve the property since it was adjacent to a residential area. In addition, in the real estate business there is not much cause for the agents to be in the office so there was no need for the additional spaces and he does not anticipate needing any additional parking. He is requesting that he only be required to put in the six spaces, but he is trying to make enough space for eight if doing so will not disrupt the property. Motion carried, all voting aye.
ANY OTHER BUSINESS: Johnny advised the Board that at this time there were no items for next month.
