REGULAR MEETING MINUTES

MAY 15, 2006

CALL REGULAR MEETING TO ORDER:

Planning and Zoning Chairman Bryan Baier called the regular meeting of the Planning and Zoning Commission to order at 7:00P.M..

DISCUSSION/ACTION REGULAR MEETING MINUTES OF APRIL 17, 2006:

A motion was made by Pamela Clayton and seconded by Gary Spraggins to approve the meeting minutes of April 17, 2006. Motion carried, all voting aye.

 

DISCUSSION/ACTION ON PROPOSED ANNEXATION:

A motion was made by Roy Pelton and seconded by Pamela Clayton to recommend to City Council  approval on proposed annexation of several parcels of property adjacent to the City limits of Sulphur Springs, being further described as property adjacent to the Highway 11 extension and Economic Development Industrial Sites.  Motion carried, all voting aye.

 

ANY OTHER BUSINESS:

Johnny advised the Commission that we have six agenda items for the next meeting 3 rezoning and 3 plats.  At the next meeting there would be a work session at 6:30 P.M. to discuss drafting an annexation policy.

 

ADJOURN:

A motion was made by Roy Pelton and seconded by Pamela Clayton to adjourn the meeting of May 15, 2006 at 7:03 P.M.. Motion carried, all voting aye.

 

P&Z MEETING RECONVENED:

P&Z Meeting Reconvened at 7:05 P.M. to hear property owner, Tim Kelty who was requesting that his property be withdrawn from the proposed annexation. He presented to the P&Z Commission  a copy of Amendment No. 1 Interlocal Agreement. Chairman Bryan Baier explained to Mr. Kelty that what the Commission did tonight was recommend to City Council a proposed annexation and the P&Z Commission have had many open meetings for the public and there would be a number of hearing during the annexation process in which he could present his request to City Council.  We will make your request a part of our meeting minutes.  Chairman Bryan Baier made the motion to adjourn the meeting for the second time at 7:15 P.M. and Vice Chairman Spraggins seconded the motion.  Motion carried, all voting aye.
