MEETING MINUTES

AUGUST 22, 2006

Present:            G.V. Hughes, Sara Gibson, Janet Hamner, Prissy Massey

CALL MEETING TO ORDER:

Johnny Vance called the meeting of the Downtown Revitalization Board to order at 6:30 P.M.

DISCUSSION/ACTION SELECTION OF DOWNTOWN REVITALIZATION BOARD CHAIRMAN:

A motion was made by Janet Hamner, seconded by Prissy Massey to elect G.V. Hughes as the Chairman.  Motion carried all voting aye.

DISCUSSION/ACTION SELECTION OF DOWNTOWN REVITALIZATION

BOARD VICE-CHAIRMAN:

A motion was made by Janet Hamner, seconded by Prissy Massey to elect Sara Gibson as the Vice Chairman.  Motion carried all voting aye.

DISCUSSION/ACTION SELECTION OF MEETING TIME AND DATE:

Board decided that the time and date of the meetings will be on the third Tuesday of each month at 6:30 P.M. 

DISCUSSION:

The board decided that if the owner of property downtown wanted to go forward with restoration they would hold a special meeting so the owner did not have to wait to begin.

The Board decided to begin reviewing submittals for restoration of property downtown immediately. 

The Board discussed several issues regarding problem areas downtown.

The Board requested that Staff put together an ordinance regarding maintenance of property downtown.

The Board requested a list of property owners in the downtown area.

ANY OTHER BUSINESS:

Johnny advised that Staff would try to have the second chapter of the Downtown Design Guidelines.

With no other business before the Board, Chairman G.V. Hughes adjourned the meeting at 7:47 P.M.
