SPECIAL MEETING OF THE

 CITY COUNCIL

 

 AUGUST 30, 2005

 Mayor Clay Walker called the special meeting of the Sulphur Springs City Council to order at 12:07 p.m.  The following council members and staff were present:

                                                Councilman Garry Jordan

                                                Councilman Larry Powers

                                                Councilman Chris Brown

                                                                                               

Absent:                                     Councilman Crouch

                                                Councilman Williams

 

Staff:                                         Marc Maxwell, City Manager

                                                Gale Roberts, City Secretary

                                                Peter Karstens, Finance Director

 

PLEDGE AND INVOCATION

Mayor Walker led in the pledge of allegiance and the invocation. 

 

CONDUCT A PUBLIC HEARING FOR THE PROPOSED TAX INCREASE

The City Council conducted a public hearing for the proposed tax increase.  There was no one to speak to the issue.  The public hearing was closed.

 

VISITORS/PUBLIC FORUM

Finance Director Peter Karstens presented information to the City Council regarding permit fees and cut-off dates for the water bills.  There was a general discussion on this topic.

 

ADJOURN

With no further business to attend to the meeting was adjourned by the Mayor Clay Walker at 12:18 p.m.
